While our specialty is softwood conifer stands, we work with a variety of species. From years of experience, we have learned every market has a season, and that often determines the species we harvest. Our team values the prosperity of your valuable land. to Meet Project Needs
On 95% of our jobs, FS Forestry operates a CTL (cut to length) Rubber-tired Harvester and Forwarder versus using traditional methods. The CTL method significantly reduces seasonal restrictions, causes less residual damage to the forest/area, keeps wood cleaner to yield better at the sawmill, and is more efficient for most jobs. The CTL Equipment also allows our team to adjust the cut length and do multiple sorts for quality and species right on site.
While we have made a significant investment in the CTL Equipment, we recognize each job is unique. Depending on the owner’s needs, terrain or quality of the timber this technique may not be the right solution. A traditional method is best employed if a site is too steep, the timber is too scattered, or too large in diameter. Rest assured our team is skilled and well equipped to execute a traditional method to meet your specific project needs.
